Message from the Town Mayor
I am delighted to have been elected Town Mayor of North Walsham, having moved here from Hertfordshire almost ten years ago, together with my husband, Ted.
The next few years will be challenging for the area given the possibility of boundary changes and housing shortages. Unfortunately, these proposals are not accompanied by the promise of more employment and an improved infrastructure, especially transport. Matters such as these are beyond the remit of the Town Council but we can articulate the feelings of the local people.
Notwithstanding the comments of Government ministers, local government for many is becoming increasingly remote, especially in rural areas.
While the Town Council cannot directly provide facilities we can help to enable groups to access information and possible sources of funding.
I look forward, together with my fellow Councillors, to working with you for the town in the forthcoming year.
